
Casey Keenan Joiner-Isaacs
Writer - Coach - Accompanist - Performer
Casey Keenan Joiner-Isaacs is a US-based writer, director, and voice pedagogue with a long history of writing down her thoughts and seeing what comes out, both on paper and on stage. As a writer, her recent work can be viewed in the Journal of Singing, upcoming issues 82 and 83, as well as one her lightly travelled blog. As a director and music director, recent works include Reefer Madness (Indiana State University,) SpongeBob Squarepants (Crossroads Repertory Theater,) Hello Dolly (Moonlight Musicals), and Dogfight (Red River Lyric Opera.) In 2015, Casey's original musical work earned the original cast of her musical, "Glass," the title of Lincoln Center Artist of the year. "Glass" was performed in its entirety at the Women's Work Festival in June of 2016. Casey participated in the BMI Engel Lehman Musical Theater Workshop where she developed a musical adaptation of "A League of Their Own," with her writing partner, Blair Bodine. Casey has performed in numerous shows in the New York tri-state area, including Matti Kovler's lauded "Drumf and the Rhinegold," with the Floating Tower Theatre group. She has also performed in numerous shows in the Lubbock area, including Mozart’s “Cosi fan Tutte,” Sondheim’s “A Little Night Music,” and the titular role in "Annie Get Your Gun". In addition to her studies at BMI, Casey has also attended Berklee College of Music, Texas Tech University, and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. She is currently pursuing a DMA in Voice Pedagogy at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia, and maintains membership in the National Opera Association, National Association of Teachers of Singing, Musical Theater Educator's Alliance, and the Pan-American Vocology Association. Casey currently serves as the Chief Communications officer for MTEA and serves as a student editor for the Journal of Voice.
